The mode of test is of multiple-choice questions (MCQs). The test is divided into three parts:

SYLLABUS COVERED IN TEST

 

GENERAL APTITUDE TEST (PART A)

  1. General Aptitude Test 1
  2. General Aptitude Test 2
  3. General Aptitude Test 3
  • The test paper of General Aptitude shall carry 30 questions and shall be of two marks (Total 60 marks). There will be negative marking @25% for each wrong answer.

 

TOPICAL TEST

  1. Topical Test 1 (Unit 1: Molecules and their interactions relevant to Biology)
  2. Topical Test 2 (Unit 2: Cellular Organization; & Unit 4: Cell Communication and Cell signaling).
  3. Topical Test 3 (Unit 3: Fundamental Processes)
  4. Topical Test 4 (Unit 5: Plant and Animal developmental Biology) 
  5. Topical Test 5 (Unit 6: System Physiology-Plant)
  6. Topical Test 6 (Unit 7: System Physiology-Animal)
  7. Topical Test 7 (Unit 8: Inheritance Biology)
  8. Topical Test 8 (Unit 9: Diversity of Life forms; & Unit 11: Evolution and Behaviour)
  9. Topical Test 9 (Unit 10: Ecological Principles) 
  10. Topical Test 10 (Unit 12: Applied Biology; & Unit 13: Methods in Biology)
  • There will be 10 topical test papers. Each topical test paper shall contain 75 multiple choice questions generally covering the topics given in the syllabus of CSIR-NET/JRF exam. Each question paper will be divided in two parts. 25 questions (two marks for each question) shall be of nature similar to Part-B of CSIR-NET/JRF exam while 50 questions (four marks for each question) shall be of nature similar to Part-C of CSIR-NET/JRF exam (Total 250 marks). There will be negative marking @25% for each wrong answer.  Students can appear in these topical tests as per his/her convenience. 

Holistic Test (CSIR NET Pattern: 145 Questions)

  • There will be five Holistic tests based on the pattern of CSIR-NET/JRF exam. Each question paper will be divided in three parts. 20 questions will be in Part A, 50 questions will be in Part B and 75 questions will be in Part C. The student has to attempt any 15 questions in Part A, 35 questions in Part B and 25 questions in part C (Total 200 marks). There will be negative marking @25% for each wrong answer. Students will appear in these holistic tests on the scheduled date as per timetable given below.

 

SCHEDULE OF MOCK TESTS

For June and December Examinations of CSIR NET Life Sciences, various test series are organized. Student can choose one or more Test series of his choice. Each test series will have a total of 18 tests (3 General Aptitude Tests + 10 Topical Tests + 5 Mock Tests). While student can appear in General aptitude tests & topical test as per his/her convenience, dates of the Mock tests are fixed and are given in table below. Log-in time will be 00.15 A.M. to 11.00 P.M. Kindly log-in within the time frame provided. In case if you miss the timing then there is no chance to appear in that Holistic Test.

Validity of this test series is upto 30th DEC 2024 and students can appear in Topical Test starting from 8th Oct to 30th Dec 2024, while for Holistic Mock Test dates are fixed.

RESULT AND ANALYSIS OF TEST

The result will be declared after the submission of each test. A comprehensive test analysis will be provided to evaluate your test preparation like All India Rank, score card, time taken to solve each question, percentage, comparison with toppers, part-wise performance, cut-off analysis etc.
